Peanut Butter Brownie Hummus
Peanut Butter Brownie Hummus is a quick and easy recipe that will satisfy your sweet tooth without sacrificing your diet. Serve as an appetizer or simple dessert!
I’m a big snacker. Somehow, it took me until college to discover hummus. I don’t know whether it just wasn’t popular until then or if my parents deliberately withheld it from me – either way I’m resentful. There’s something so fascinating about processing a BEAN into a creamy, flavorful dip. There’s savory hummus, spicy hummus and my absolute favorite, dessert hummus.
If you follow me on social media, you have probably seen my recipe for healthy edible cookie dough. The first time I introduced Austin to it, he had NO CLUE it was made from chick peas, peanut butter and agave nectar. He has a massive sweet tooth (we both do actually), and he loves it! I’m still shocked! He even requests it from time to time!
Well, because the cookie dough flavor was so successful, I am introducing a new twist, Peanut Butter Brownie Hummus! It is creamy, chocolately and the best part is, it still won’t ruin your diet. It’s made with chick peas (of course), peanut butter, cocoa powder, agave nectar (or maple syrup), vanilla and almond milk (or any non-dairy milk). Essentially, you throw all the ingredients into a food processor, pulse until smooth and you’ll create the best ever dessert hummus.
Pro tip: if you can’t seem to get a smooth consistency, add additional almond milk one teaspoon at a time. It will help get the hummus moving through the food processor and will create a smoother texture.
This hummus can be served as an appetizer at your next party or even a healthy dessert. Top with sprinkles for pizzaz and serve with graham crackers and/or your favorite fruit. It’s a real crowd pleaser!
